Bolærne is a demilitarised island on the Olso Fjord, Norway. Like many fortifications in the area, it was created as a defence against the Nazis then refortified by them during the occupation in the Second World War. It was continually in use during the Cold War as a training and observation station until its release to the Vestfold municipality in 1999.
